Check the experience during a real logging task instead of relying on an ad-free label.
Inspect interruptions
Try entering a set, moving between exercises and reviewing history. Notice any banners, prompts or navigation steps that interrupt your own workflow.
Separate privacy from appearance
A clean interface does not establish what information an app processes. Read the privacy notice and platform disclosures rather than inferring privacy from the absence of ads.
Verify current behavior
This article is published by Weights and is not an independent ad audit or competitor benchmark. Check the installed app and its current purchase terms.
Locate your sources of interruption
Try a routine you already know and note where the interface asks for decisions unrelated to recording it. Check exercise search, editing and returning to the active set. Then repeat a correction rather than testing only the happy path. An app that looks quiet in a screenshot may still require several steps for the task you perform most often. This is an evaluation checklist, not a claim that Weights was timed against competitors.
Keep useful detail without excess typing
A note such as “different cable station” can explain a result without copying the entire workout into free text. Use structured fields for weights and repetitions, and notes for exceptions. Choose a naming convention for custom exercises early so you do not create several nearly identical records. When comparing apps, check both the session screen and how easily you can find an old entry; fewer distractions today should not make records harder to understand later.
